1 THE LORD'S SUPPER
The body and blood of Jesus, broken and poured out for the forgiveness of sins.
We are to take and eat to remember the Passover meal Jesus ate with his disciples.
(Matthew 26:26-29, Mark 14:22-25, Luke 22:14-23, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
2 THANKSGIVING
The meal is called the Eucharist because it is a meal of thanksgiving—
an opportunity to thank God for Christ’s work in us.
3 COMMUNITY
It is also called communion because in it is an opportunity to
commune with both God and other believers.
4 PROMISE
Like the women at the tomb, when faced with grief and sorrow
we often forget God’s promises. (Luke 24:1-9)
